A silent lament in darkness: Brought ashore by the dark of time

Time darkens
waves arrive so gently
in the night

I like being on the beach at the end of the day, I love the beautiful colors when the sun disappears behind the horizon. And a beach walk when it gets dark is even more a very special experience. The sounds that are brought to the beach by the increasingly darkening waves become more intense, and at the same time they bring a special tranquility. I would even say: a very special silence…

‘Brought ashore by the dark of time’ is a photo in the series ‘A silent lament in darkness’, part of the gallery ‘Eternal sea‘.
It is a photo in a four-part black and white project I made late in the evening on a deserted beach along the North Sea, south of the town of Agger in Denmark, in the spring of 2016.
