When you walk on the beach and it is very quiet, you can hear the sea and the sky talking to each other. They are always in conversation and influence each other strongly. The mood of the one affects the mood of the other. As always, in a close relationship…
‘Eternal encounter’ is a photo in the series ‘The language of sea and sky’, part of the gallery ‘Eternal sea‘.
In a series of 10 photos I ‘paint’ some of the words that the sea and sky speak to each other: the language of sea and sky.
The northwest coast of Denmark is the main source of inspiration for this project, but also the beautiful words of the Indian poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore [Stray Birds, 1916]:
What language is thine, O sea?
The language of eternal question.
What language is thy answer, O sky?
The language of eternal silence.
